If you follow all of the approaches described below and treat your soccer ball properly, you can expect your soccer ball to last a long time.
YOUR BALL MUST BE CLEAN
Take some time after your game to polish your ball. Any mud or dirt can be wiped away with a damp cloth, and any stubborn stains can be worked on with a bar of light soap. If you use tidy detergents, your ball’s waterproofing may be compromised. Similarly, don’t use abrasive towels; they will scrape the covering off over time, reducing your ball’s ability to shed water. There are some excellent synthetic leather cleaners on the market; always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use. If you use a jet wash or a steam cleaner, the water may get into the seams or the valve.
Water should not be used to clean your soccer ball regularly because it is not suitable for it. Experts advise against using detergent, but if you must, use it sparingly. By the way, if you have already damaged your ball and are looking for a replacement, consult a soccer ball expert.
RE-INFLATE YOUR BALL
It makes no difference how expensive the soccer ball is; it will release some air after use. As a result, you should check the ball’s air pressure before each usage and inflate it if necessary. Your soccer ball will keep its attractiveness for a long time if you keep practicing. It is an excellent approach to let some air out of your ball after a game to relieve stress on the seams, but don’t forget to re-inflate before playing again.
KEEP THE BALL DEFLATED IN A SAFE PLACE
You don’t want to utilize your soccer ball for a few weeks before storing it without any air in it. Because the manufacturers encourage it, you should deflate your soccer ball first and then save it. To flatten it properly, you’ll need a needle or a pumper. You don’t have to crush the ball completely to deflate it; instead, release half of the air to allow the bladder to rest.
YOUR SOCCER BALL SHOULD BE KEPT IN A SUITABLE ENVIRONMENT
It would be best if you keep your ball in good working order. That means you won’t be able to save your ball in extreme heat or cold. Most importantly, it would help if you never stored your soccer ball in moist conditions because the outer cover will be damaged. After returning from a match or tournament, clean it first, then keep it in a dry, regular environment.
DO NOT SIT ON THE BALL OR STAND ON IT
For the ball, we ask that you refrain from sitting or standing on it. First and foremost, unless you’re a circus acrobat, standing on a ball – any ball – is extremely dangerous, so we recommend that you avoid doing so for your safety. Standing on a soccer ball, for example, will undoubtedly damage its structure to the point where it warps into an oblong shape that is unsuitable for play. Sitting on the ball can have the same effect, so don’t sit on it during breaks.
SELECT THE CORRECT BALL FOR THE SURFACE
The grass is a soccer ball’s natural habitat, but not everyone has access to a championship-level lawn. There is no need to worry about wrecking your ball if you use the proper ball on a suitable surface. On a rough surface like concrete, an average match ball will easily scuff and cut. On the market, there are more substantial, longer-lasting balls that can be used on these surfaces. If you want to play indoors, utilize an indoor ball or Futsal, made explicitly for this.
DON’T PRACTICE TOO MUCH AGAINST A WALL
It would be best if you would not practice with your soccer ball against a wall. When soccer players are alone, it is common to practice with the ball against a wall. The soccer ball was not designed to be used against a wall for practice. If you kick the soccer ball against the wall with too much force, it may be damaged or possibly burst. So, if you’re alone, don’t practice. Instead of practicing with a wall, try practicing with your friend. Then your soccer ball will stay in good shape and provide you with more support.
